Why soy wax?

Soy wax has numerous health and environmental benefits.

Some of the benefits include:

  • Contains no petrol-soot that will blacken walls or ceilings
  • Has a longer lasting burn
  • Derived from a renewable resource (soybeans)
  • Biodegradable and easy to clean-up with soap and water

How should I store my soy candle?

Store your candle in a cool, dry place, and away from sunlight. Soy candles can discolor and fade when exposed to sunlight for prolonged periods of time. It is best not to display your candles in sunlight or fluorescent lighting.

What is the best way to care for my candle wick and how long should I burn my candle?

We strongly recommend trimming your wick at 1/2” before lighting your candle each time. This keeps the candle from smoking and producing a large flame. It can help to trim the wick with the candle upside down to keep the wick from falling into the candle.

Why did my candle "tunnel" and not burn to the edge of the jar?

The most common reason for a candle to tunnel is because it didn't burn long enough the first time it was lit.  The first light of a candle is very important in ensuring a clean and even burn.  When you receive your candle, be sure to let it burn long enough to allow the melted wax on the surface to reach the edge of the jar, which could take a 2 - 4 hours depending on the size of your candle.

If the candle does not burn long enough in an appropriate size room you will not be able to smell the wonderful aromas. For example, our 8 oz jar candle would be best in a medium size room of approximately 20 by 20 feet.

Candle Safety

After your first burn, we recommend burning your candle for no longer than 4 hours at a time for maximum quality and longevity and safety. Please discard your candle once your candle wax reaches no less than 1/4 inch left in your jar.

Why does my candle have a bumpy and rough surface after I burned it?

100% soy wax naturally solidifies this way. When the candle is lit again it will create a liquid wax pool that continues to give off a wonderful fragrance.

How do I clean the candle jar after I am finished burning it?

Scrubbing with a cloth + warm water + soap is all you need.
